Preparations are set for the 34th Annual White Marlin Open.  The fishing dates are August 6-10 and late registration is set for August 4-5 at Harbour Island Marina.  Check the 2007 Dates section for more information on dates and schedules.

Anyone may fish in the White Marlin Open.  Read the 2007 entry information to see how to register as an angler, or how to register your boat to participate in the 2007 event. 

There are no major changes to the basic format for the 2007 tournament.  The NMFS has delayed the mandatory use of circle hooks for anglers participating in Atlantic billfish tournaments until 2008.  In other words, the use of J hooks will be permitted while fishing the 2007 WMO. We  have added a new category based on daily accumulation of billfish points by boat.

Over the years, many novice anglers have won big money fishing the WMO, but it is vital to arrange the services of an experienced captain to get you to the fish.  If you don't have a boat, and are considering fishing the 2007 WMO, or have an interest in putting together a group to participate in the event, you should make charter arrangements as early as possible.  Check the Marinas and Charters section for contact information.
